Yolk
Grace Plaza, New York
A meditative and beguiling way to spend your lunch hour! – Eva Yaa Asantewaa, InfiniteBody
About Yolk
Arts Brookfield, Grace Plaza, NY (2014)
Yolk was a durational dance performance for two dancers and two 1970’s-era egg chairs, created for Grace Plaza. Born out of an Arts Brookfield-supported creative residency, the work furthered Third Rail Projects’ explorations in fusing dance, installation art, and performance within the public sphere. Set against the bustle of midtown Manhattan, Yolk was part time capsule and part hidden treasure, offering meditative movement and saturated images of ready-made goddesses transforming within a fragile shell.
